“Stately in temperament the way that the Tantric Doctors traverse the terrain feels quite majestic. Every piece works in unison sculpting a surreal aural atmosphere which at times becomes impossible to truly pin down. While the jazz underpinnings inform the entirety of the album elements of rock, noise, industrial and ambient deftly are woven into the overall sonic fabric.” – Beach Sloth
Tantric Doctors ekes out an intriguing suite of minimalist/maximum musings. This album is a tribute to the house in which Trout Mask Replica was created: rather than a tribute to that album which would be impossible and ludicrous. So, it’s like an anti-real-estate agent’s pitch. As well as a physical house, it refers to the musical house: Monk, Ornette Coleman & 20th Century Avant Garde Music in general. Sometimes played from a score, sometimes sequenced, sometimes improvised – all the time killing it.
