An Update On The ‘Rona + A New Artist
I thought I would give you a quick update on what is happening at Focused Silence HQ during the Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020. I have had the virus, contracted it and then kicked it’s arse. The lock-up is currently unaccessible and we have a new artist to champion…
The New Artist: Meet Ben Glas
There is a new artist on Focused Silence: meet Ben Glas. Ben is a gifted composer. His release will be out as soon as I have the strength. For more on Ben Glas please click HERE. There is both a physical and also an intensely cerebral quality to the work Ben submitted to Focused Silence. It really is a tale of two halves.
I Caught Covid19 (Again)
I am one of the lucky ones who have the physical symptoms mild. The cognitive issues are marked, however. I was frequently dissociating and everything was softer around the edges – I could not hold a train of thought for love nor money and as a result the label suffered.
I apologise to the artists who’s demos I may have missed and I apologise for missing deadlines. I should have been a bit more vocal on Social Media about it – mentioning that I was struggling; but then, everything is clearer in hindsight. And, to be honest, I did not have the strength to plod it out on my mac.
CDs Are Not Happening Right Now
The UK is in the grip of another lock down – so things are going snail’s pace for business. However, I would much rather that the economy suffered than for more people to lose their life to the virus. Please bear with me on these things.
I am unsure how Brexit will affect the delivery of goods to Europe form Focused Silence – I hope they can continue and I guess I will have to put the price up for delivery to the Mainland. Maybe I will have to limit delivery of goods to the UK and stick to downloads for the rest of the world (thinking out-loud)? Either way, the cluster-f*ck that is Brexit rolls on and all of the people who shot themselves in the foot will continue to shoot themselves in the foot out of pure stubbornness. It is a shambles that should have never happened – sometimes Democracy is too good for us.
Right – new artist on Focused Silence – see this link to find out more. You have read about one man’s battle with Coronavirus and how he heroically triumphed – to be fair, personally, I have had worse hang overs but I know of people, proud, strong people my age, who have died from it – it is not a nice thing to catch and I wish you all the best & wash them hands. Godspeed!
